We’ve included the average annual cost of auto insurance to show you auto insurance as a percent of income. For the average yearly income, auto insurance doesn’t affect the average salary much at all. At most, it’s almost 10 percent of your income.

The average annual rates, or the average cost of insurance per year, is a compound of all auto insurance companies’ yearly auto insurance rates in the state.

The auto insurance rates are added together and divided by the number of companies in the state, which will give you an average. That number or dollar amount represents the average annual cost of the state.

If you earn less per year, your auto insurance as a percent of income could be much higher. What about United Fidelity and Guaranty insurance cost per year? How does it affect the 2020 annual income?

Here’s a table that shows the average annual rates of Travelers auto insurance by state. We’ll provide auto insurance as a percent of the income of each state to compare the cost to the average annual rates.

From the largest company to the smallest agency, each organization is regulated by the state where they offer services. Plans are universal with variations relative to the state.

For example, United Fidelity and Guaranty coverage in a no-fault state is going to be slightly different from coverage in a tort state where the guilty party’s insurance company pays.

Most individual plans offer basic inclusions such as:

  • Bodily injury liability
  • Property damage liability
  • Personal injury protection
  • Collision and comprehensive
  • Underinsured or uninsured motorist protection

As a way to save, many people decline or reduce collision and comprehensive coverage. If you have an older auto with dents and dings in it already, this may be a good way to decrease your rates.

Here are two videos that explain the bodily injury liability and property damage liability.

The next short video talks about the other side of liability coverage, which is called property damage liability. Watch the video below.

If you have a lien against your vehicle, however, comprehensive and collision may be required.

If your financed vehicle is less than 5 years old, it is a good idea to protect your vehicle with collision and comprehensive coverage.

Canceling Your United Fidelity and Guaranty Auto Insurance Policy

Sometimes it feels like a big chore when you want to cancel your auto insurance. If you’re selling your auto or transferring your auto insurance policy to a new one, you’ll have to cancel your insurance.

Canceling your auto insurance policy can go smoothly if you cancel in a timely manner, but if you don’t take the proper steps to cancel your auto insurance policy, it could be like pulling teeth. The sub-sections below will walk you through what you can expect when canceling your auto insurance policy.

How can I cancel my auto insurance without fees?

When you ask to have your auto insurance policy canceled in the middle of the policy, you could be faced with a fee or penalty. Fees for canceling your auto insurance policy before expiration could cost $25 or a percentage of your auto insurance policy.

Each company has terms and conditions which lists how much a fee will be if you cancel in the middle of the agreed auto insurance policy.

Can you get a refund on auto insurance?

Customers who pay for their auto insurance policy in full may be entitled to a refund. As an auto insurance customer, you should be refunded for the months you didn’t use auto insurance services. If you are three months into your policy, then you will not receive three months’ worth of rates.

Some companies may not fully refund your policy and refund you money based on a bracket you’re placed in when you enroll in auto insurance. Ask how auto insurance refunds work before you cancel your auto insurance.

How do you cancel a United Fidelity and Guaranty auto insurance policy?

Call a Travelers customer service agent and say that you want to cancel. You can talk directly with a Travelers agent in your local area, and the agent can submit your cancellation.

Be sure to have your auto insurance policy information with you such as:

  • Name, address, and phone number
  • Policy number
  • The final date of your auto insurance policy
  • New insurer’s name and policy number (in case you’re switching providers)

If you’re not switching auto insurance providers or you’re selling your vehicle, you have to provide further documentation such as proof of sale. Insurance agents prefer that you give them notice when you want to cancel, but cancellation usually goes into effect immediately.

Can you cancel your auto insurance policy at any time?

Yes. It’s your right as the customer to cancel at any time. However, there may be some drawbacks to canceling without notice or within a strict auto insurance policy agreement. Also, it’s not a good idea to cancel your auto insurance policy when you don’t have another auto insurance policy set up to cover you.

Auto insurance agents may hesitate to cancel your auto insurance policy if you don’t have another policy set up.

Measure your timing carefully when you cancel your auto insurance policy so you don’t have any gaps in your auto insurance coverage.
