TIG Policies

TIG was licensed to write insurance in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, and Washington.

The company also underwrote surplus lines in Washington, D.C. and all states in the United States except for Maine.

TIG Agents

However, there are agents that write for its other subsidiaries.

Each of the subsidiaries has a website which can be found on Fairfax’s website.

Once you are on a subsidiary website, you can pull up information, which includes the address, phone number, and email address of the various brokers.

Contacting the broker individually will provide the opportunity to obtain an insurance quote.

TIG Careers

Due to the closing of TIG, there are no longer any career opportunities available.

However, Fairfax’s subsidiaries have their positions posted on their individual websites. The subsidiaries websites are all listed under Fairfax’s website.

  • Personal Auto Comprehensive
  • Personal Auto Collision

The California insurance review board found violations for Commercial Bodily Injury, Commercial Auto Collision, Commercial Auto Comprehensive, Commercial Garage Keeper Bodily Injury Liability, Commercial Garage Keeper Legal Liability, and Commercial Auto Property Damage.

Altogether there was a total of 156 violations for 445 claims that were reviewed during this period.

The largest amount of violations were due to the company failing to create and enforce guidelines for quick investigating and processing claims that resulted from policyholder’s accidents or incidents.

However, the company’s response was to correct this immediately and train staff accordingly.

The second largest violations were due to the company’s neglect of record keeping.

Apparently, the policyholder’s files were missing pertinent documentation related to the claims that were filed.

The violations were addressed by management with the claims department so that this would no longer occur during claims processing.

The state of California conducted another examination, which covered documents from January 1, 2003 until December 31, 2005. This examination related more to the financial dealings of the company and not violations.
