Texas Select Auto Insurance Claims

The Texas Property and Casualty Insurance Guaranty Association covers Texas policyholders and claimants when an insurance company fails.

TPCIGA communicates the status of the claims and policies and pays out monies due as necessary.

Information regarding TPCIGA’s involvement in Texas Select can be found at https://www.tpciga.org/.

Inquiry forms can be downloaded, filled out, submitted, and then reviewed for eligibility for payouts from TPCIGA.

Claims may take years to be paid out, depending on the classification of the claim.

Non-Texas residents should check with their state guaranty fund to see how funds are being paid out.

Texas Select Auto Insurance Agents

Texas Select agents do not lose their license when a company like Texas Select goes into mandatory liquidation. They are still able to sell insurance for active companies.

It is always unfortunate when a company is forced into rehabilitation and fails.

However, the state insurance department’s job is to protect the citizens. Insurance companies that are unstable cannot pay claims to its customers.

Thus, it is imperative that the state agency steps in and regulates the auto insurance company in any way necessary to protect the citizens.
