So, no, this is not an auto insurance company, and individual drivers cannot receive quotes or coverage.

What you will find is insurance for specific medical professionals. Dentists, doctors, and hospitals all find protection through this organization.

ProMutual Group Dentist Coverage

ProMutual has a line of insurance products designed especially for dentists with an option of adding hygienists and dental assistants to the policy as well.

ProMutual has agents specifically assigned to work with dental malpractice insurance. They understand the ins and outs of the dental profession and what type of coverage options are needed.

ProMutual’s dental malpractice coverage provides a $1 million limit per occurrence and $3 million in aggregate.

The aggregate is for legal fees as well as a settlement in the case of an injury that results from a covered, legal professional service by the insured dentist.

When choosing the option to add other staff members, this coverage and these amounts extend to them as well.

The dental malpractice policy also provides $5,000 in medical payments coverage for related medical expenses stemming from an injury caused by the insured dentist.

Medical payments can be for first aid rendered at the dental office, an ambulance ride to the hospital, and the cost of hospital services.

The policy also covers up to $25,000 in fees if a dentist must appear before that state licensing board and sexual misconduct defense coverage.

ProMutual Group Physician Coverage

ProMutual’s physician malpractice coverage is more extensive than dentist malpractice coverage because physicians have a higher risk of causing injury and death due to their actions then dentists do.

Because of this, ProMutual assesses each physician individually, as well as the hospital or practice they work for, in order to provide the most appropriate coverage available.

The first part of the physician malpractice coverage is claims made coverage.

This is an individual claims coverage and covers claims made after a retroactive date or claims that are reported during the reporting period.

This may seem confusing, but physicians know that a claim can be filed against them months or even years after an incident has taken place due to the lasting affects of an injury.

Occurrence coverage is for incidents that happen only during the coverage period.

This means that claims that are filed months and years after the fact will not be covered if they were not reported during the covered period.

If a physician has occurrence coverage it is recommended that physicians purchase their own tail coverage to coverage past incidents.

If a physician does not want to purchase their own tail coverage, it can be added as a rider to ProMutual’s malpractice coverage. It is referred to as Prior Acts Coverage.

Additional riders that can be added include $25,000 for legal fees if the insured physician must appear before the state licensing board and sexual misconduct defense coverage.

ProMutual Group Hospital Coverage

In addition to physicians carrying their own malpractice insurance, hospitals must also carry malpractice insurance. ProMutual’s hospital malpractice insurance is for:

  • Non-profit hospitals
  • For-profit hospitals
  • Community health centers
  • Clinics
  • Laboratories

Hospital coverage provides $2 million per incident and $20 million per year while labs, clinics, and community health centers are covered up to $6 million per year.

In this category of physician malpractice insurance, additional coverage of $25,000 in legal fees, if a professional conduct review is necessary, and sexual misconduct defense coverage are available.

Riders can be added that cover commercial general liability for the building, healthcare facility excess, and umbrella liability.

For all three categories of coverage, ProMutual offers risk management services. These services are provided at no cost to the insured.

ProMutual will send a qualified agent or risk analyst specialist to a practice or hospital to assess the safety guidelines in place and to point out areas of weakness that can be fixed.

This can reduce the overall total of incidents thus lowering the payouts for the insurance company.
