Seneca Insurance Company Financials

The company’s website lists financial numbers as of December 2009. Seneca claims a $167 million policy surplus, gross written premiums of some $128 million, and net income of $3.9 million.

These numbers are drastically different from those we found on a 2010 financial report. That report indicated assets of just under $339 million, a policy surplus of approximately $141 million, and working capital of $4.8 million.

The discrepancy may lie in the fact that the 2010 report could include all of Crum & Forster’s insurance holdings rather than just Seneca’s.

Regardless of the discrepancy, the fact remains that Seneca Insurance Company is on firm financial footing at this time. Its A.M. Best rating indicates the company is in a strong enough position to meet all current obligations and anticipated claims.

Its stable outlook for the future indicates that A.M Best sees no reason to doubt its future viability. Seneca should have no problem meeting all long-term obligations without an issue.

Seneca Insurance Company Claims

Seneca Insurance Company offers three options for making claims. The option the company most prefers is that customers contact them at a dedicated e-mail address provided on their website.

A representative will respond to that e-mail and provide forms that can be filled out and submitted to the claims department.

The second option is to call their 24-hour claims hotline, which is staffed by qualified representatives who can assist you in the claims process.

The Seneca representative will take all the information needed to get things started over the phone, and advise you on your next course of action. You should be careful to call as quickly as possible after an incident.

This third option is designed for people who might not have access to a phone or Internet within a reasonable amount of time following the incident.

Seneca Insurance Company Careers

The careers link on the Seneca Insurance Company website indicates that the company has a variety of different career paths interested workers can pursue.

Those paths include administration, underwriting, claims, loss prevention, and several others. Unfortunately, the company does not provide a searchable job listings database as some others do.

Interested candidates are encouraged to send their resume to the human resources department at the address listed on Seneca’s website.
