Things to Remember...

  • Gramercy specializes in commercial insurance products
  • Gramercy is one of the fastest growing insurance companies in the nation
  • The commercial auto category includes Contractor’s Equipment Insurance, Motor Truck Cargo Insurance, Truck Physical Damage Insurance, Commercial Auto Liability, and Commercial General Liability

A Gramercy auto insurance review leads to Benchmark Holdings Inc. Although the company was started in 1979, Benchmark has been the owner of Gramercy for over 10 years.

Gramercy is officially listed as a property and casualty insurance company with offices in Norcross, Georgia and Dallas, Texas.

Gramercy specializes in commercial insurance. They do not sell any type of auto insurance policies to individuals. The categories of insurance sold are commercial auto, builder’s risk, extended warranty, and surety.

Within each of these categories are several types of policies. The policy needed depends on the type of business owned by the customers.

Gramercy Auto Insurance Commercial Products

The commercial auto category includes Contractor’s Equipment Insurance, Motor Truck Cargo Insurance, Truck Physical Damage Insurance, Commercial Auto Liability, and Commercial General Liability.

Policies are written for both on-land and marine trucking and shipping.

The auto division of insurance at Gramercy focuses on the trucking industry exclusively.

Coverage is offered in every state except:

  • California
  • Montana
  • Wyoming
  • Michigan
  • Ohio
  • Virginia
  • Delaware

The builder’s risk division of insurance includes policies for both renovations and new construction.

The policies for renovation do not provide as much coverage as new construction coverage because the length of time spent on renovations is assumed to be shorter than the time spent on new construction and the risk is assessed differently.

Holding a builder’s risk policy is more likely to give your customers peace of mind.

When you are hired as a contractor for a business or home, those who hire you want to know that you are insured for the risk that you are about to undertake.

Builder’s risk insurance can give you another reason to reassure customers that you will get the job done.

The extended warranty division of insurance is a blanket coverage insuring consumer electronics, telephones, and home appliances. Gramercy insurance agents can give the specifics of what is covered.

Coverage extends for products that are broken or malfunction. The surety division writes policies for travel agencies only.

Gramercy Auto Insurance Company Reviews

Gramercy Insurance Company has received several positive reviews from customers and from the insurance industry. Inc. 500/5000 is an independent company that reviews companies in dozens of industries and finds the top 500 and top 5000.

Gramercy was recently ranked number 28 among insurance companies. This is due to the fact that the company doubled its revenue in three years’ time and has an annual growth rate of 94 percent.

Gramercy is one of the fastest-growing insurance companies in the nation. Purchased only a decade ago they have assets in the amount of $28,858,278 and $10,757,821 in net surplus.

For a company that is only 10 years old, this is a big accomplishment. The company says that its growth is due to the strict standards it sets for policies and policyholders.

The only complaint made by customers is that some claims take longer than usual to be paid out.

Damage to a truck via an accident, vandalism, or other reason is most likely to happen away from home, out on the road. There are police reports, paperwork, and state laws to consider. This is the reason for the delay in the fulfillment of claims by the company.

Gramercy only has one complaint registered with the Better Business Bureau and the complaint is for failure to respond. The customer filing the complaint claims that they received no response to an inquiry made via e-mail.

Only one complaint in the four years it has been listed with the BBB is an excellent record.

Gramercy Auto Insurance Company Agents

Gramercy Insurance Company is a stock company owned by individuals and customers. Agents are independent and represent the company through individually owned businesses. Agents go through training to become licensed to sell insurance through Gramercy.

Although different agents have different strategies to selling insurance products, they all follow the Gramercy guidelines.

Training is given several times a year as well as at an annual conference to better train agents to meet the needs of their commercial clients.
