Allstate has a long history and a well-known name.

Pros: “The people and the benefits are great here. If you network into certain groups you will find there’s pretty much an expert for everything so the sky is the limit to getting the resources you need to perform your job and learn new things. As far as benefits, I had 25 days of PTO plus 5 days of carry-over–something not every company offers.”

Cons: “Just as there are pockets of the company where a premium placed on critical thinking and business acumen, there are also pockets of the company where your career basically boils down to how good you can sell yourself–even if you do it by misleading others. This proves to be an ethical dilemma for much of the best analytical talent.”

Comparably also asked Allstate employees what they thought of working at Allstate. These results are as of Quarter 1 of 2019.

It seems that Allstate is the best company for both safe drivers and if you have a student who either lives far away from home or is doing well academically. Allstate also offers military discounts for both active and retired military, which is a standout.

If you are engaged, newlyweds, or married, and having those discounts are important to you, Allstate does not offer married couples discounts. Nor do they offer any type of loyalty discount.

What is also shocking:  with all of the education discounts they offer, Allstate does not offer discounts for students and alumni, nor do they offer discounts if you choose to continue your education beyond a Bachelors Degree.

Canceling your Policy

Sometimes things happen, and you will need to cancel your policy.

Allstate will try to help you with discounts instead of you having to cancel your policy outright:
