Florida has quickly become one of the most expensive states in terms of insurance premiums, so it is no wonder that you want to know what auto insurance company has the lowest insurance rates. Some providers like Geico have a good reputation for a low price.

Unfortunately, the lowest rates are virtually impossible to determine because everybody’s rates are different. You are better off simply getting a quote to see who would provide you with the best rates.

Florida insurance is one of the most expensive in the country – their average annual premiums are $1,700.

The worst part is that these premiums cover $10,000 personal injury protection (PIP) and $10,000 property damage liability (PDL), according to Florida’s Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. This is the lowest required coverage in all 50 states.

How can I get the lowest auto insurance rates in Florida?

As mentioned above, the only way to ensure that you have the lowest auto insurance rates is to get quotes for your auto insurance policy. By comparing prices between several auto insurance companies, you will know for a fact that you are getting the lowest price.

Although you can get quotes directly from insurance websites, there is a benefit to using our quote tool that you need to consider.

When you request a quote through us, you will automatically be presented with the insurance companies in your area that offer the lowest prices.

When you visit individual websites, you can’t actually be sure if the insurance company you are looking at is offering you the lowest price. After all, there is only so much time in the day and there are over 100 insurance companies licensed to sell auto insurance in the State of Florida.

When you use a quote tool, or more specifically our quote tool, you will not be limited to the handful of insurance companies that you recognize.

While we don’t have every insurance company in our database, we found the best ones, the ones with the best reputations and the most stability, and included those in our database.

When you get a quote, you are presented with the best companies in order of the lowest rates to the most expensive rates. This allows you to know for certain that you are getting the lowest auto insurance rates in Florida.

Are there any other ways to ensure that I have the lowest rates possible?

There are other ways to get lower rates on your Florida auto insurance. The most common way is to be a safe driver.

If you have never made an insurance claim and you don’t have any points on your driver’s license, then you will pay less for your insurance than someone who has even a single point on their driver’s license or has made even the smallest of claims.

What’s more, there are auto insurance discounts offered by a number of companies that may lower your rates even further. In addition to safe driving, you can get discounts for:

  • Being married
  • Having a college degree
  • Having good credit
  • Carrying multiple insurance policies with the same company
  • Staying with the same insurance company for an extended period of time
  • Driving a safe car
  • Taking defensive driving classes

It is important to note that not every insurance company offers all of these discounts. For example, Geico only offers three discounts to their drivers, safe driver, multiple policies, and loyalty discounts.

Progressive, on the other hand, offers discounts for everything you see in the above list.

What should I do if I think my insurance rates are too high?

If you think that you are paying too much for your car insurance, the first thing you need to do is get a free quote. If you are seeing quotes that are much lower than your current premiums, then it may be time to make a switch.

You may want to call your current insurance company to discover why your rates are so high. There may be something on your driving record that you aren’t aware of, or even that doesn’t belong there.

Your driving record is sort of like your credit report, you should check it from time to time to make sure it’s right.

If you feel that there has been a mistake on your driving record you need to contact the Department of Insurance or the equivalent in your town. You may have to hire a lawyer, but generally, you can get it corrected without all of the drama of going to court.

You can also tell the insurance company that you believe there is a mistake and they may contact the Department of Insurance or DMV to clarify the issue; however, don’t count on them doing the legwork for you!
