[/su_box] There are a lot of options when it comes to car insurance. But if you’re a high-risk driver, you may find it challenging to find proper coverage. While certain companies won’t offer coverage to high-risk drivers, GAINSCO Insurance offers standard coverage options to people with bad driving records. As you search for the best car insurance companies in your area, GAINSCO could be an excellent option. The company files SR-22 forms and offers online quotes to potential customers. Unfortunately, GAINSCO is only available in 17 states and does have a significant number of customer complaints.

Gainsco Auto Insurance Coverage Options

GAINSCO offers coverage that meets each state’s minimum requirements. These coverage options include:

  • Bodily injury liability
  • Property damage liability
  • Personal injury protection
  • Medical payments

GAINSCO also offers the following add-on coverage options:

  • SR-22 form. If your state requires you to show proof of financial responsibility, you may have to file an SR-22 form. Not all insurance companies will do this, but GAINSCO offers this coverage via State Farm’s SR-22 insurance.
  • Non-owner insurance. If you regularly drive someone else’s car, non-owner coverage offers liability protection so you don’t have to pay for repairs out of pocket.

While State Farm does offer SR-22 coverage, the company may decline to file a form on your behalf. This is why many people decide to pursue coverage with GAINSCO instead of one of the larger companies.

GAINSCO essentially uses a State Farm SR-22 form, as State Farm is GAINSCO’s parent company. Still, GAINSCO is more likely to offer coverage to individuals with a DUI or another significant violation on their driving record.

Unlike many other auto insurance companies, GAINSCO does not offer many coverage options. Therefore, if you are not a high-risk driver and you don’t need an SR-22 filing, you may want to look elsewhere for coverage.

Horrible experience

My vehicle has been in the shop for 60 days and I haven’t heard anything from the insurance. My adjuster [REDACTED NAME] has not been any help throughout this process. My vehicle has been in the shop for 60 days and I haven’t heard anything from the insurance. My adjuster [REDACTED NAME] has not been any help throughout this process. He has called me every three days and threatened to take away my rental vehicle. Gainsco has since stopped paying for my rental and I’m stuck paying for it myself. They said my policy only covered 30 days but more than half of those 30 days have been wasted due to their mistakes sending checks With the wrong names and for the wrong amount. They have charged my deductible at least twice when it should’ve only been charged once. So because of this it’s left more expenses on my end that I should not have to pay for. It’s been a hassle and a headache throughout this entire process. I just want my vehicle to be fixed and my rental to be paid for during this time. The ball has been dropped since the very beginning. Gainsco also has not paid the towing company that towed my vehicle to the shop and now I’m being harassed for payment. The towing company wants to pick up my vehicle and store it until the insurance pays them. So between dealing with all these unnecessary expenses due to my insurance adjuster I’m also having to deal with the stress. My adjuster won’t allow the body shop to get parts locally so we’re stuck waiting for parts to come in from different places and that is not my fault. I should not have to be paying for a rental vehicle when gainsco has dropped the ball from the beginning. Something really needs to be done about this. I would never reccomend this insurance company to anybody and I would hope nobody has to deal with the things that I’ve had to deal with. This should be a smooth process but they’ve made it very stressful and have caused a ton of additional expenses that have come out of my pocket and shouldn’t have.

The lowest insurance I could find

So far so good the price is not bad it was the cheapest I could find I just cover liability state minimum I haven’t had any issues or claims I should say so all I do is pay the bill customer service has been all right they do not outsource so you could understand the agents.I think after having coverage with them my cost should’ve gone down not up for having absolutely no claims no tickets no accidents. It went Up by a couple of dollars

The actual process of getting the insurance was fairly easy I did it over the phone and then they emailed me and sign everything on e sign. I was told at the time I got to policy that I could cancel it anytime cuz I still was looking for a better deal on insurance. After less than a week I found insurance for about 50% of the cost of gainsco so I decided to cancel that policy and go with the other insurance company. That's where the problems arose, when I called in to cancel the policy was nothing but one problem after the other. Talk to one person and they would send you to another person. Ever person I talk to at a different way of canceling the policy. I did everything they said to do, but it was always something else that they wanted done. I had used my debit card to make the down payment on the policy and one person told me that after it canceled that money would be refunded on the card number oh, but that is not the case whatsoever. After fighting with them two days on the phone and sending in documents myself and from my new insurance carrier, they told me that they would send me a cancellation letter in the mail and then they would send me a check anywhere from 20 to 30 days in the mail. I use my card it should have been refunded back to my card, now I'm still waiting on a check and we'll see how that goes, but I'm not getting my hopes up too high. I don't have any problem taking your money, but they sure as [REDACTED WORD] don't want to give it back. I would write the easel getting the policy at about a 8 oh, any easier to get the money back at zero. I do not recommend this insurance company at all.

I ended up having to pay to have my license reinstated, and I switched to progressive. 4/26/19 I received a letter in the mail from department of highway safety and motor vehicles stating a "order of suspension" , low and behold it was Gainsco! "MGA insurance company INC" I haven't been insured with them since 2016-2017. So please tell me why is my license being suspended from such a fraud company when I'm not even insured with y'all? Again FRAUD!!!! Please I beg everyone, don't make this mistake with this company.

They will try to skimp on paying ACV for your vehicle period!!! They have lied particularly [REDACTED NAME] in the Total Loss Claims department. She told my lien holder I said my car had dents in the door when in fact I sent her photos of my vehicle a week prior to accident and day of the accident with no dents anywhere on the vehicle. I have been trying to get in touch with the claims representative for 4-5 weeks and have received no response. Please do yourselves a favor and pay more for a serious insurance company that takes care of their clients. I was paying nearly $300.00 a month and this is the service I get. Also, the way they do the Actual Cash Value for a vehicle is insane and very unfair. They will complain about a stain on the carpet. This company is all about getting your money and not wanting to be fair in the slightest. I have asked to speak to someone in a better position to help me with my circumstance and have been duly ignored. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!
