So you’re at a car dealership and you want to check to see how much insurance will cost on the new or used car you’re proposing to buy.

Being a savvy consumer, you realize that car insurance can increase the annual cost of a vehicle considerably, so you need a quotation instantly.

Always compare quotes before deciding. Use the FREE quote tool located at the top of this page to get started! Simply enter your ZIP code now!

Here’s How to Get a Quote

You can call your current agent and request a quote. Most agents have the software to acquire a quote right away with your current company.

Many insurance companies, too, have online sites to log into for quotations to add vehicles to your current insurance policy.

Or, on the other hand, if you want to examine competitive quotes:

  • Enter “instant insurance quote” online in the search engine on your iPhone; a list of insurance companies and their websites will pop up
  • Click on one or more of the websites and enter the appropriate information to obtain a quotation
  • Save the quotes to your e-mail account so you can determine the exact details once you reach your laptop at home or at the office. Assuming that you already have insurance, ask your current agent to bind coverage for you on the new car until you get all the paperwork
  • Caution – Don’t drive the car off the lot without insurance. Once it’s off the lot, and the deal is done, you own it and are responsible for the car

Comparison Shopping for Insurance

Since insurance policies on your cars cost at least half the cost of a refrigerator, apply the same shopping techniques to insurance shopping as you would to a major appliance:

Check the insurance brand to see if it is reliable. You can do this through A.M. Best

Compare features exactly for what your insurance needs are. Print out the quotations to make sure they are comparable

Ask your friends, relatives, and others about the service and claims handling offered by the insurance brands you have examined.

Comparison shopping for insurance can save you from a few dollars to a substantial amount.

Shop carefully. And, by the way, don’t let a car salesperson push you into rash actions.
